Reduce Toxicity in Your Environment Today!

“Staying consistent by empowering you all valuable information to reduce the amount of toxins in your body, your life, and your environment.

As I mentioned last week, in doing research for a presentation I was asked to give at a Breast Cancer awareness benefit, I came across an article on the EWG website that shared recent studies  showing that environmental factors are taking a very severe toll on our health, and the 3 biggest causes are:

  1.  The Toxins in Our Food
  2.  The Pollutants in our Air
  3.  The Chemicals in our Lifestyle Products

The best thing we can do for ourselves is to become aware and educated in how we are being impacted, and in how to make new changes that can make a big difference for ourselves and our loved ones.  If you missed last week’s tips, please click here for the goods.  And below you will find even more small changes that can have a big impact.

  1.  Avoid Non-Stick Pans & Bakeware

Most of the bakeware people are using is loaded with toxins and hormone disruptors which leak into our food and affects our organs, tissues, cells… even wreaks havoc on our brain.  This is a serious deal that is often overlooked. Choose stainless steel or check out this amazing company’s line of products Demarle Home.  Not only is their bakeware safe, it is also super easy to clean!  BONUS.

  1. Avoid Plastic or Styrofoam cups for hot drinks

Do your best to use avoid using plastic & styrofoam for anything!  Use paper cups when out, and even do a bit of looking around for a non-plastic travel mug that is safe.  There is nothing wrong with traveling with your own cup!  I really like the Hydroflask!

  1. Switch Tupperware for Glass Containers

Another plastic isa, and it just gets more toxic the older it gets!   Seriously, are you getting the theme for NO PLASTIC?  😉  Whatever you do – PLEASE don’t put this plastic in the microwave because it only makes the situation more harmful.  And if you get glass – DO NOT GET NON-STICK!

  1.  Watch Out for Your Takeout Containers

Yes, we are really getting into the nitty gritty here, but this is so I can help open your eyes to how you really are surrounded by toxins & chemicals!!  And when you heat these, as is often done with styrofoam soup containers, and when hot items are put in styrofoam or plastic to go containers, things only get worse.  Choose take away spots that use paper containers.  Or, and this is something I would totally do – bring your own take away container and ask them to put it inside!  😉

  1.  Swap Household Cleaners

Our everyday products wreak so much havoc on our health, and we have done a great job of turning a cheek to this because it is simply how we grew up!  But if you start doing a bit of digging and learn what is really going on, you may start to change your mind.  Make your own with vinegar, soda and essential oils.  And get rid of those AntiBacterial hand washes!!

  1.  Swap shampoos

Avoid sulfates, phthalates, paragons, sodium lauryl sulfates, and sodium laureth sulfate.  These are all known carcinogens, meaning cancer saucing agents.  Look for organic, animal free, paraben free, SLS & SLES free, etc.

  1.  Swap Body Soap & Lotion

Just like in #7 above, the things we are using on our skin are LOADED with chemicals.  Do your research and look at the ingredients!  DO you know what any of those things are?  Me neither!!  My favorite go-to brand is Dr. Bronners.

  1.  EAT YOUR CHLORELLA!!

Chlorella as an every day supplement is critical. Chlorella binds with chemicals and heavy metals in the body and pulls them thru the system.  We cannot avoid ingesting toxins, all we can do is reduce our exposure and be proactive in cleaning them from our system.  There is a reason I started a cleanse company and I cleanse 3-4/year — because we are surrounded by more than we can even imagine!

So there ya have it – 8 more ways to reduce the toxic load in your home and environment, and to clearing this from your body.  And while we want to take measure to reduce our exposure, we also want to be proactive in removing the toxins and chemicals that are in our body!  How do you think our cells become mutated?

Don’t forget to cleanse!

As always, if you need advice or suggestions, please let me know how I can help!

HUGS & LOVE!
