8 Ways to Reduce Toxicity in Your Life

“This week I wrap up my 3 part “How To” series to empower you with valuable information to reduce the amount of toxins in your body, your environment, and now your life.

As I mentioned, I came across an article on the EWG website that shared recent studies showing that environmental factors are taking a very severe toll on our health and contributing to cellular mutation which has been linked to cancer. The 3 biggest causes  they identified are:

  1.  The Toxins in Our Food
  2.  The Pollutants in our Air
  3.  The Chemicals in our Lifestyle Products

In week 1 I talked about toxins in our food, last week it was in our environment, and now I want to share with you 9 tips for your lifestyle so that we may truly have the energy, vitally, clarity and freedom to create a life you love and live your potential.

  1.  MEDITATE

Stress is the biggest killer & the easiest and cheapest way to reduce this is meditation. Many studies are showing the positive health benefits of simply sitting with our eyes closed, and being with ourself and our thoughts. This will support us in living in less or a reactive state and move into a responsive and creative way of being.

  1.  Go Green —  ADD PLANTS

Add more beauty and more oxygen to your home & environment with plants.  These babies will help to improve the quality of air that is floating around (did you know the average home has 500-1000 chemicals, most unseen to the eye?) by actually removing toxins from the air.

  1. SLEEP

Sleep is one of the most important elements of our health as our body needs time to rest, rejuvenate, replenish, AND CLEAN ITSELF!  Studies have even shown a direct link between our appetite and our sleep cycles.  This is one of the most undervalued resources we have at our fingertips, and also FREE!!

But our ability to sleep is often impeded by caffeine, toxins and other stimulants we ingest during the day that block our neurotransmitters.  This is yet another reason it is critical to cleanse regularly.  I struggled with insomnia for my entire life until I created my herbal formulas – now I sleep like a baby every night and have since starting my company…  Isn’t it usually the opposite?  😉

  1.  SWEAT

Sweating is one of the best ways for your body to excrete toxins that have built up in the system – the skin is one of the biggest ways our body works to detoxify itself…  thats why we see break outs when we have eaten unhealthy, or when our pores get clogged…  Exercise is definitely the best course of action, but you can also do things like far infrared sauna and steams.

  1.  AIR PURIFIER

Air purifiers are INCREDIBLE and an easy way to help reduce some of the chemicals that float thru our house due to paint, cleaners, carpets, candles, and all the bazillions things we have that add to the list.

  1.  KICK OFF YOUR SHOES

Go Asian style and take off your shoes so you don’t drag all of the dirt, bacteria & chemicals in from outside.  It will help keep things cleaner & purer!!

  1.  CHANGE YOUR CANDLES

Many candles are extremely toxic and loaded with chemicals that burn into the air we breathe.  Do some research on a good, toxin free, all natural candle line so you can still enjoy the benefits of these babies.

  1.  AVOID TOXIC RELATIONSHIPS

Next to stress, Negative energy from the people in our lives/environment may be one of the biggest “suckers” of our life force.  Take note of the energy you let into your bubble, and notice the environments you choose to enter.  Choose wisely, and if these people are unavoidable, exercise compassion and kindness and see if a shift takes place.  Simply choose not to allow this energy to even enter your field and affect your frequency.
