“This past weekend I was asked to speak at a Breast Cancer Benefit in Oregon, and while doing research was absolutely amazed at the findings.  By the end of the year, over 2.8 million women in the US will have been affected by breast cancer.

While these numbers are alarming, what was interesting is that 85% of these cases had absolutely no family history or because of anything “inherited”.  In digging further, and with recent studies by EWG, recent studies are showing that environmental factors are taking a very severe toll on our health, and the 3 biggest causes are:

  1.  The Toxins in Our Food
  2.  The Pollutants in our Air
  3.  The Chemicals in our Lifestyle Products

The best thing we can do for ourselves is to become aware and educated in how we are being impacted, and in how to make new changes that can make a big difference for ourselves and our loved ones.

Not only do we need to make choices daily, but we also must be proactive about removing accumulated toxicity from our body.

This weeks blog is dedicated to helping you understand how to make wiser choices with FOOD and what you consciously CHOOSE to put in your mouth.

  1.  GO Organic  

You have to – just make the switch.  Yes it is more expensive, BUT the taste is MUCH better, you will get more bang for your buck in nutrients, AND you will be saving your body from GMOs, herbicides, pesticides, chemicals, hormones, etc.  Read a previous post about studies between Organic and non-organic.

  1. Avoid Canned Foods 

Cans are lined with BPA (Bisphenol A) which is a pollutant in itself, harming the liver and increasing free radicals and oxidative stress on your cells.  Most canned food is also loaded with sodium that has been stripped of any and all nutrients and can often contain additives that are carcinogenic.

  1. Avoid all Corn, Wheat & Soy

These are the Mean 3 — seriously get them OUT of your body and your home.  Read labels because they like to sneak in different versions of this product – like Soy Lecithin, maltodextrin, etc.  The bottom line, if you can’t pronounce it, you don’t want to eat it.

  1. Reduce Caffeine & Alcohol

Yes, we all know it, but how many of us actually do it??  All I will say is this — Coffee IS that bad for a woman’s body, and please do more research on the type of beer you are drinking!  This is a great article on the ridiculous amounts of chemicals and crap found in beer.

  1.  Use Dairy Alternative

You and your body are going to be far better off not consuming ANY dairy.  Swap milk and cream for Nutmilk alternatives, swap coconut oil for butter, and just skip the cheese please.  This way you can hopefully reduce taking in hormones, antibiotics, bacteria and more.

  1.  Avoid Plastic Water Bottles

Swap these for a glass water bottle or buy a HydroFlask!!  This goes back the the BPA issue similar to the Aluminum cans.  Toxins leak from the plastic into your water and then you drink them and of course you never even knew they were there.

  1.  Cook with Water

So many oils turn rancid, meaning harmful, when they are heated to a certain temperature.  Skip cooking with oil and sautee with water instead.  You know how many cleansers I have turned on to this and they LOVE IT!  YES – it is possible to cook without oil!!

  1.  EAT CHLORELLA!!

Chlorella is simply amazing.  Not only does it have more protein per gram than steak, a complete spectrum of fatty acids, and is a plant source of vitamin B12 — it also binds with heavy metals and toxins in the body and pulls them thru the system.  I highly recommend this supplement more than one time per day — thats why I started carrying it. Sun Chlorella is actually absorbable, unlike most brands you find on the market.  Its not what you take, it is what you absorb!

  1.  Reduce your Meat

Most the meat in our country is loaded with hormones, bacteria, antibiotics, and more.  These go into our system and wreak havoc on our organs, tissues and cells.  Not only that, meat is extremely challenging for our body to digest, and it is acidic.  What’s the point?  Just eat Your Chlorella!!

  1.  Choose Wild Caught Fish

Fish is NOT always a healthy option.  Shoot for smaller fish, fish that grow quickly, and DO more extended research to learn about this please!!
