Hola!
So I just arrived back to LA last night around midnight and was in the office first thing this morning feeling incredibly inspired to share a story with you…
But first,
Here’s the TRUTH – that thing you have been wanting to do, you know what I am talking about, that thing that you keep putting off but really want to start or to do, well it is time for you to take the leap and just do it.
Maybe you’ve been wanting to do the cleanse, kick your sugar habit, or restart you workout regimen. Maybe you’ve been wanting to take an adventure vacation or to start a side business. Whatever it is – JUST DO IT!
Stop making excuses and just take the plunge because there is NEVER a good time, and life and all that is going on OUTSIDE will never give you permission to say yes to you.
You MUST start to prioritize yourself.
So let me tell you a little story. My trip to Costa Rica was an absolute blessing that I never could have forecasted.
Here’s how it happened:
A few weeks ago while having dinner with a friend, I was sharing my intention to lead my first ever private wellness retreat in Costa Rica (think yoga, meditation, healthy food, possibilities of cleansing, Spiritual exercises, personal enrichment, nature, spa time… total rejuvenation and total activation) but I hadn’t yet found the right venue.
“Why don’t you do it at the house?” He said.
“What?” I replied, not really sure what he was talking about.
“Yeah, do it at my place in Nosara.”
My jaw dropped and I lit up from within. How did he know I had envisioned the retreat at a private venue instead of a resort or large scale operation.
“Oh my gosh, that’s an incredible idea! Thank you so much. When can I go down and check out your house?”
“Can you leave tomorrow?” He said. “It’s available for the next 10 days.”
I froze. Leave tomorrow? How in the world could I possibly do that??
I run a business. There was so much to do. I had to prepare and get everything done. Everything in my being was saying, “that is the craziest and most irresponsible thing ever.”
You see, the past few months I have been nose to the grindstone working on something very special for you (be on the lookout just after Easter, as you do not want to miss!). There are pieces that still need to be put in place and the to do list is monstrous.
But the schedule I have been keeping for the past four months and the amount of stress I was feeling had left me completely exhausted. My productivity was crap and I was on the verge of burn out…
My Spirit had been begging me for a break, and Nosara was just what she needed but definitely not what my mind or my life was telling me was important.
I paused, and said inside, “If I keep saying no to myself and my own self care and desires, then the universe will only reflect this back to me.”
And so I took the leap, both feet in, and was on a plane less than twenty four hours later.
As Spirit would have it, a dear friend of mine who also lives in Nosara, just happened to be in LA and was returning on the same flight! Okay – if that isn’t a sign that I was in complete flow, then I don’t know what could be!
And this was only the beginning of the magic and the synchronicities.
Two days later, as I was settling in and working on the balcony overlooking the ocean and jungle, another friend of mine showed up at the door completely unexpected. I had totally forgotten he moved down South. We hadn’t seen each other in a few months and had the opportunity to share time and space more relaxed than we ever did in LA.
We ended up going for a swim that afternoon and having dinner on his balcony where I got to meet his girlfriend – all while overlooking the water and listening to the sound of the waves crash below.
I could continue like this because every day in Nosara there was a new adventure, new beauty, and beautiful new relationships unfolding. Every day there was serendipity and synchronicity, and despite not having a car, I found my every need was always met and my every desire always filled.
Why? Because I was totally surrendered, in the flow and trusting that everything was perfect. And as a result, my time ended up being so nourishing, healing and transformational.
Not only that, new business opportunities came forward and my mind is totally expanded as to what is possible.
I genuinely feel as though my life is on a new course where the world is limitless and I am empowered and inspired to take bold, confident action.
The invitation from my friend was one of the greatest gifts I could have ever received, yet it took ME saying yes and opening my heart to endless possibility. It took me saying no to all the mind chatter, the to do lists, and all the other outer responsibilities that were weighing in my consciousness.
Because nothing outside of me is ever going to give me permission to say yes to me. It is NEVER a good time. There is always something and always a really good excuse to put off whatever it is I need and want to do for myself. Especially when it is from the heart and does not make logical sense.
And the same is true for you.
Whatever it is you have been putting off – stop.
It doesn’t have to be some monumental international vacation. It starts with the simplest things that are crucial for our inner happiness and our personal health.
Whatever it is – just DO it. Stop saying no to you. There will always be a vacation planned, an upcoming wedding, a friend’s birthday, a relative visiting, a holiday, a business trip…. There will ALWAYS be something that stands between you and prioritizing you.
But when you put your foot down, and you take the leap, I guarantee you will be catapulted forward with oomph and vigor that is beyond your wildest dreams.
And I guarantee that new beginnings, great inner awakenings and new possibilities will come forward.
Whatever it is – just do it. You are worth it!
Just be sure to embrace the magic and ALWAYS express your gratitude!
