Stay On Track This Holiday Season

Can it possibly be the middle of November?  Yup, and that can mean only one thing…  here come the holidays!  YIKES!  For most that means added stress, limited time, and an extra 5-10 lbs.  Here are some tips to help minimze the damage:

1) Plan Ahead!  If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.
Map out your week, plan your meals, and make sure to keep the fridge stocked with fresh produce and other healthy items.  Make extra large portions when preparing food so you can have leftovers on hand and easily accessible.  This will keep you from  stopping late night for fast food or other convenient, unhealthy options.

2) Don’t Skip Meals
Not eating is one of the worst things you can do.  It slows down your metabolism, starves your cells, and sends the wrong message to your body.  It can also lead to overeating, especially after a few holiday cocktails!

3) Go Green
Load up on the greens.  It will help you stay light and energetic, and as long as you hold on the dressing, it will also be light on your belt buckle.  Greens are also hydrating, which helps when paired with a spritzer!

4) Eat Before You Go
The BEST strategy for avoiding the extra calories at the hors d’oeuvres table is to make sure you have a light meal or big snack before any party.  This way you won’t be as tempted to chow down on the deep fried nibbles and the cheese and crackers.  It will also leave less room for alcohol.  A winner all around!

5) Make It A Virgin
Just because they are passing champagne does not mean you have to partake.  Opt for a virgin cocktail instead.  Save on calories and have a more restful night of sleep.  The total effect – you will feel much better the next day!

6) Take a Day Off
Believe it or not, it is okay to say no to the holiday party.  Instead, stay home and relax. You deserve it.

7) Keep Exercising
Staying on track with your fitness will support you in making more positive food choices.  The two go hand in hand.  Plus it will keep your spirits high.  Skipping workouts almost always leads to negative self-talk.

8) Skip Social Media
JUST SKIP IT! Seriously!  Be present with whomever you are with, and use the time in between to be with yourself.  You can’t believe the wisdom that comes forward from spending time with yourself!  Test it, and see what you think.

And of course, the absolute BEST strategy to stay on track this holiday season?

9) CLEANSE!
Cleansing during the holiday season is the easiest and smartest solution to setting yourself up for success. It is a great excuse to NOT fall victim to temptation or to peer pressure. Avoid the holiday BLAHS by tapping into your own natural energy and starting the year off fresh, polished, and ready to go?  THAT’S WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!

10) JOIN THE CLUB!

What They Are Saying
“Before Nykki’s cleanse, I was always tired, lethargic and addicted to sugar and caffeine.  Now my sleep is deeper than every before and I wake up ready for the day.  Even better is that I want to continue to take care of myself and not go back to my old habits.  This program is different.  Invest in yourself and just do it!”  – Cindy
