Last week I shared Meat Myth #1 – “If I don’t eat meat, I will not get enough protein.”  I helped you understand that protein is actually the combination of amino acids, which can be found in all foods, and that it is about properly combining our aminos to form complete proteins. If you missed it, you can check it out here.

This week I am sharing with you the second most common meat myth that crosses my path.

Meat Myth #2: “If I don’t eat meat, I am going to starve.”

Listen, I get it.

We were all trained to believe that the meal revolves around meat.  That is simply how many of us were raised.

Eggs for breakfast.  Now a smoothie with a protein powder.  Chicken for lunch.  Fish for dinner.

So when the idea of going on the cleanse and shifting to a plant based diet comes up, it is not uncommon for someone to look at me with panic in their eyes.

“What am I going to eat?  How will I get full?”

The answer to these questions are really quite simply – with foods that are NOT meat.

The truth is there are infinite possibilities for nourishment that are NOT derived from an animal.

Did you know there are people called Fruitarians that eat a predominantly fruit diet?  Yes, only fruit, all day, every day.  And they not only survive, many thrive.

I am of the belief that we can train our body to do whatever we want, all it takes is the mindset to do so, and then the willingness to follow the mind.

One of the things I LOVE to observe with my cleansers is when someone comes in with this fear and belief system, and in less than a week, their foundation is rocked because they are only eating vegetables and are not even hungry!

In fact, I often receive an emails from cleansers asking if they have to eat because they are not even hungry.

It’s incredible what happens when you empower your body to actually absorb the nutrients it receives, and then when you feed it super high vibrational foods, everything shifts.

Yes, meat and potato men transform into green juice and avocado junkies that aren’t even interested in food.

There is a significant amount of life force energy available for you when you switch to a predominantly plant based diet and reduce or remove the meat and dairy from the equation.

First of all, you are getting many more nutrients and enzymes.

Second, your digestion improves dramatically as you need significantly less energy to digest veggies and beans and grains than you do meat and dairy.

This frees up so much life force energy that you can channel into doing other things — and often will kick start your workout regimen!

Also, the amount of fiber you eat and the alkalinity of your body increases, both important components to a healthy, high functioning system.

Again, I am not saying meat is bad or that plant based is the only way.  What I am offering is the opportunity to broaden your perspective, open your mind to other possibilities, and consider that there is a world of options out there that exist outside of eating meat and animal products.

Perhaps living free of animals may actually be much more conducive to your body’s constitution…  But unless you give something a whirl, you will never know and instead simply accept a truth that was wired in you rather than determining it for yourself.

Consider taking 1-2 weeks to pass on meat and instead choose veggies, beans, grains, nuts, seeds, etc…  receonnect with food as it is grown in the Earth, and see how this impacts your energy, your body and your mindset.

Nothing is more fun than running an experiment.
