“If your Memorial Day was ANYTHING like the majority of America’s, you most likely ate a little too much, drank way more often, and forgot completely about your exercise & self-care regimen.

This past weekend we had 17 cleansers staying true to their goals, 18 if you add me, and it was SO amazing to see the dedication and commitment, and to hear everyone’s feedback about how GOOD it felt to say NO and to make self-honoring choices despite being out in the world and surrounded by temptation and peer pressure.  It is such a gift when we are able to do this – to honor our commitments to ourself.  This is the path to creating trust within, and to feeling confident and powerful to create change in the world.

If you did fall off track and lose sight of what’s important to you, rather than beating yourself up and inflict negative self talk and self “punishment,” why not take a different approach and start fresh?  See today as an opportunity to get back on the track and to reconnect & recommit to yourself and your health.

A few tips to kick start your fresh start:

1) Have VERY clear goals for getting “on track”.

You must know exactly what you are going to commit to – the clearer the better.  For example – replace “I am going to work out every day this week.” with “I am going to exercise every day this week after work.  I will take a spin class on tuesday and thursday, a yoga class on wednesday, and go for a run friday.”

It is so much easier to be successful when we know what we are committing to.

2) Plan your meals.

Take a minute this evening and get grounded with your nutrition plan for the week.  Avoid the “catching up and putting off” energy many feel after a holiday weekend.  When we have a plan of action, we know exactly where to go.  When we don’t, its super easy to stop for take out or grab something on the fly.  Hit the store, stock up on fresh veggies, and have healthy options available at all times.

3) SLEEP.

It is so common to forget how important sleep is for all aspects of our health.  It has been shown to be influential for weight loss, for every, for mental energy, for emotional health.  DO yourself a favor, and schedule your bed time this week and treat it like a business meeting.  Just take a shot at this and see what happens – run an experiment and see just how it flies!!

If you are dragging or having a tough time getting going today, know you are not alone.  Shake the Post holiday blues and just get moving!!  We have an entire summer ahead of us to look forward to!

LOVE LOVE LOVE to you all!

XOXO
