The choice is yours.”</p> <p>What Wayne did NOT say is, “you can be right or you can be kind, so you should fall into the trap of people pleasing and lose sight of your own goals and taking care of yourself.” Everything that Wayne teaches revolves around personal empowerment, self reliance, and living a life that’s true to you.</p> <p>I work with so many women who get trapped in this vicious cycle of people pleasing, and often lose sight of even knowing what’s right for them. It’s so engrained in the female DNA to care for everyone else and put others first, and usually that results in putting their dreams, their goals, their self care, and even their self worth on the back burner. </p> <p>As a result, the behavior becomes automatic and many can become unconscious of what they are doing, but deep within the resentment builds, their self esteem plumets, and their happiness falls to the wayside.</p> <p>It also leads to health challenges because everything is energy, so the body will create patterns of energy that result in symptoms such as exhaustion, fatigue, brain fog, stubborn weight, and even more serious issues.</p> <p>You’ve got to wake up to this type of behavior. There is nothing sexy or serving about being a martyr. It’s not that I don’t believe your body needs healthy bacteria, because I definitely do. But I don’t believe that you need to take something you buy off the shelf at Whole Foods in order for that to happen.</p> <p>Personally, I won’t touch them, and here’s why.</p> <p>First of all, think back to before the probiotic craze – before supplement companies pumped a bunch of money into marketing them as an essential part of your daily maintenance program. </p> <p>The population as a whole sure seemed to be in much better health than we are in today, and gut issues were something almost no one talked about. </p> <p>The truth is, study of the microbiome still has a LONG way to go, and your gut is filled with hundreds of different kinds of bacteria – some good and some not so good. And believe it or not, your body is GENIUS. It is so smart, it actually knows how to culture the bacteria it needs to protect itself and fight against the bad stuff. </p> <p>The trick is nurturing the body’s inherent healing abilities – and of course I share some tips on that in a minute. </p> <p>But first it is important to understand that 95% of what you read is fueled by marketing initiatives to get you to buy a product. Even most of the studies that have been conducted show insignificant amounts of evidence that they have a positive impact. </p> <p>But companies with big pockets can pump money into these studies until they get some kind of evidence that can then be rolled out into a marketing campaign.</p> <p>And because supplements are not a regulated industry, many of the over the counter products on the market have more strains of bacteria in them than what is listed and what you even know – most of which you do not want anywhere near your body. </p> <p>And quite honestly, why in the heck put more bacteria in your body blindly?</p> <p>So let’s set your body up for success to create it’s own healthy bacteria. This is also the same strategy I used to heal myself naturally of leaky gut, bloating, and any unnecessary candida possibilities.</p> <p>The first thing you do is consistently <a href="https://www.nykkihardin.com/cleanse-program-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">cleanse your body </a>(I suggest 3x/year) using therapeutic grade herbs and supplements that fight the unhealthy critters you don’t want in there to begin with. </p> <p>This is exactly why I formulated my Bowel Tonic – it is anti-parasite, anti-bacteria, anti-yeast, anti-fungal, and anti-viral, and let me tell you, it takes care of business.</p> <p>The only reason I know this is because I do my <a href="https://www.nykkihardin.com/cleanse-program-2/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">21 Cleanse</a>3x/year personally and have used it to help a lot of people with massive gut issues get on track with better health, better digestion, etc… I am talking no bloating, better nutrient absorption, more energy, no more brain fog, no more depression… you get the point. </p> <p>But while you are fighting the bad stuff, you want to rebuild and strength the good stuff. </p> <p>Now, in addition to consistently cleansing your body with a proven, therapeutic grade detox kit that uses herbs and specific supplements, you want to do important things like eat predominantly plant based foods. </p> <p>This will give your body the healthy pre-biotics it needs to feed the gut what it needs to colonize that healthy gut flora. </p> <p>Avoid processed foods, refined sugars and carbs, coffee and alcohol as much as possible. These things all pollute the gut and work against your efforts. </p> <p>You also want to take a few maintentance supplements that help – personally I eat about 4 tsp of my <a href="https://www.nykkihardin.com/online-shop/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">organic chlorella powder a day and take my herbal multi-solution</a>. These are my only maintenance supplements. </p> <p>And while I am not a doctor and don’t give any medical advice, I avoid antibiotics as much as possible and won’t go near birth control pills. Why? Because I know what both of these things do to my gut and microbiome.</p> <p>So there you have it – my answer to one of the most common questions I am asked, “What probiotic do you take?”</p> <p>I don’t. And I never recommend one. I believe in naturally supporting the body to peak health and maintaining it. </p> <p>These are just a few of the ways you can protect your gut without putting alien strains of unknown bacteria in your body that could have other cultures and strains of things you definitely don’t want anywhere near your mouth let alone your inner ecology. <br><br>Yes, I have opinions.
