Let’s talk about depression because I know so many of you struggle with it and I believe it’s one of the real pandemics in our society today.
Depression is a sensitive subject and it’s something that I really relate to. I understand the various feelings associated and also the different phases. I personally use to struggle with chronic depression that was so severe I spent most of my life in bed sleeping or crying. I hardly left the house, didn’t work, and was not even wanting to be in the world.
I started with talk therapy and at first it was helpful because it was a place for me to talk about what was going on inside. But what I found over time was that I wasn’t actually healing and moving on with my life. Instead, the talk therapy recycled the stories that were lodged in my consciousness that kept them alive and part of my reality.
Luckily I was aware enough to see what was happening, essentially that I was still stuck in my past and in my inner wounds and pain. So I started looking for other options and found the tools to do the proper healing that has allowed me to live my life without the burden of depression.
I’ve learned so much about how to heal the physical, emotional, and spiritual imbalances that contributed to it, and then how to create a new life experience to move forward and actually accomplish my goals. It is such a blessing to now be able to do the same for others in my coaching practice.
One of the first things that people do when we start working together is they want to blame their depression on some outer circumstance in their life – whether it be the lack of success in their love life, their career, their finances… Or perhaps they are harboring anger or resentment from their childhood or past wounds.
The story will always lead us down the path of diving underneath the surface to see what is really going on. From there, we do the deeper work to heal the unresolved material – the destructive thoughts, the anger, the resentment, the shame, the guilt….
We re-write their beliefs, help them create new thoughts and emotions, and set up new actions to create success. It is only when you do this that you will be able to create new results in your life. Otherwise you will continue to repeat the same patterns over and over and over again.
If you are experiencing depression, it is a result of something inside of you that needs to be expressed and healed, and there are tools and processes to help you do that which I share with and take my clients thru. It’s never a product of what’s outside of you, it is an inner opportunity and the outer circumstances are what’s triggering these reactions that then send you into these depressive episodes.
If you really want to heal your depression and not continue to feed it or put a bandaid on it, I understand your pain and struggle. I am here to help you, and we can do that when you schedule a call with me. There is no obligation, just you and me diving in to your situation to help you get unstuck, feel safe in your skin, and finally move on with your life to create the success you desire.
